Alyssa grew up in Florida and moved to the Atlanta area in 2003. She has a love for education and taught formally for a few years before going back to school to study international development at Georgia Tech. That led her to serve with Friends of Refugees and The Global Village Project in Clarkston, GA, the most diverse square mile in the US, where
she also lived for 6 years. There, she came alongside her refugee neighbors to help them take advantage of the educational and employment
resources needed to thrive here in their new life in America. This awakened her passion for empowering each person uniquely created by God to connect with Him and who they were created to be, so that they can also do the same for others. After taking a detour to run the family engineering company, she is excited to be back directly serving people with Aid the Children. In this role, as well as distributing Ocean Treasure to as many as possible, she is also looking forward to supporting people now that their quality of life is restored.
